We believe in the Nordic work-life balance. Our 37,5-hour work week leaves you lots of time for family, leisure time and proper sleep. We don’t crunch. You can, however, collect overtime hours at your own choosing, which you can then trade in for days off. Helsinki ranks #1 in the best work-life balance in the world!

You accumulate a total of 5 weeks paid holidays annually after your first full year of working, and you’re by law also required to use them up. If this isn’t awesome enough, you also get an extra holiday bonus after you return back to work!

Our salaries are based on skill set, experience and the industry average in Finland. Although Finnish taxes are rumoured to be high, your net earnings provide you with a comfortable level of living in a modern, well-functioning society.

You’ll never have to worry about separately negotiating health care or insurance benefits, as they’re equal for all our employees and also Finland’s public health care is rated one of the best in the world.

Finnish banks are reliable, and opening a bank account is quite fast and easy. As most transactions are electronic, your physical visits to the bank will be very few and far in between. You’ll even be able to use your online bank identification for your taxes or declaring customs for out-of-EU shopping.

Public health care in Finland is top-notch (including dental care). Housemarque also offers you private health care, including an option for therapy sessions. Unlike in some countries, your sick leave is sacred to us. Employers are not only forbidden to require you to work while at home sick, but we’ll also remind you of it if you try.

Finnish nature provides many interesting opportunities for an outdoorsy lifestyle. While during work hours and your commute you’re covered under the mandatory workers’ compensation our employee insurance also covers your adventures during leisure-time.

Everyone needs brain food & healthy breaks throughout the day. We offer subsidized lunch vouchers to help you enjoy a balanced lunch, and our kitchen is stocked with fresh fruit, drinks, all-you-can-drink coffee and even morning porridge after your trip to the gym. Quite often someone will also bring cake to work!

Traditional Finnish food is quite mild, and uses a lot of meat, fish and vegetables. Nowadays you can find also a lot of non-Finnish groceries - if not at your closest supermarket, then at least in some of the smaller specialty stores.

Helsinki has a multitude of excellent restaurants in all price ranges, with a wide selection of Finnish and international cuisines to choose from. Finnish tap water is not only safe to drink, but also the best in the world!

Helsinki was rated the best city for families in a 2019 study! The study compares 16 factors including paid parental leave and general affordability.

Finland is rated one of the safest countries in the world and the quality of education is high. The Finnish society supports families with children financially, and compulsory education is free to attend. Children’s health and development is closely monitored during early childhood at child health clinics, and at school after they enroll to first grade.

Either parent can stay home with the baby and apply for parental allowances. Regulated working hours, ample holidays and good work-life balance mean you will actually get to spend time with your family too, and not just catch a glimpse of them when rushing out the door in the morning.
